VON Nurse Practitioner Clinic

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) and the Morton Community Healthcare Centre (MCHC) are pleased to announce that effective June 7th, 2017, VON will begin operating a Nurse Practitioner Clinic at the Jane Furber Centre(JFC) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. People who are visitors or seasonal residents with urgent episodic concerns such as a sore throat or sore ears may call 705-651-4866 for appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 and 4:00.

“We are very pleased to be able to provide these important primary care Nurse Practitioner services to the people of Lakefield and the surrounding area”, says Shari Comerford, VON's National Director, Nurse Practitioner Professional Practice. “We are committed to providing timely access to care and service while working in partnership with local community agencies in pursuit of positive health and social outcomes.”

“In addition to being a leader in the provision of primary care services, VON offers a wide range of home and community care programs that will greatly benefit the community at large” states Liz Loftus, VON Director of Home Care.

“We are delighted that VON Nurse Practitioners will be able to extend their services to the Jane Furber Clinic” says Glenda Newson, chair of the Board of Directors of the MCHC. “This will be an important addition to the health care services offered in our Centre.”

The clinic will be staffed by Nurse Practitioners Sarah McLean and Shari Comerford, on Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively.
